About
Filanomy was built so anyone who 3D prints can see what a print really costs, quickly: whether you print your own parts as a hobby or sell what you make.
Why we made it
As people who 3D print, we know calculating cost by hand every time is tedious and error-prone. Reading weight from the slicer, working out electricity and filament separately, and, if you sell, adding shipping and marketplace fees all takes time. Filanomy does all of it in one place when you upload your file.
How it calculates
The method is open: filament, electricity, machine wear, failure margin and labor are calculated item by item and summed; for the selling price, profit, shipping and fees are added. For formulas and examples see the cost guide and the pricing guide.
Data sources and limits
- Printer average power draw and bed sizes are approximate values compiled from manufacturer information and typical use; they are not measurements. You can enter your own.
- Marketplace fees vary by category, seller level and time; the presets are only a starting point.
- For unsliced files, weight and time are estimates. For exact values, slice and upload the .3mf or .gcode.
Privacy
Your files and values never leave your browser. See the privacy policy for details.
